(St. Louis, MO, June 07, 2022) The UP Companies (UPCO) and its divisions, Square UP Builders, Power UP Electrical and Hustle UP Laborers is celebrating another successful year in Kansas City by expanding to a larger office with warehouse, adding a new division, and increasing its workforce to complete a backlog of new projects.
Within just a few years of establishing a brick-and-mortar presence in Kansas City, the full-service contractor is moving to a new office at 13313 W 98th St. in Lenexa, Kansas – a facility more than double the size of its previous location. UPCO has also steadily expanded its workforce over the past two and a half years with the addition of a lead estimator, general superintendent, operations manager, senior project manager, project accountant and 75 field staff with 16 foremen.
David Murrell, Regional Director for The UP Companies, and his team are credited with establishing and growing Square UP, Power UP and Hustle UP in the Kansas City metro area. All three divisions support commercial, warehouse/data centers and healthcare projects for some of the most recognized and established general contractors in Kansas City.
“We are currently on a managed growth trajectory and have gained more traction and visibility through word of mouth, connections and our performance in the field,” said Murrell. “Word gets around quickly when you are doing good work with a dedicated staff of professionals. We are proud of the partnerships we have forged with recognized, quality general contractors such as KAI Build, JE Dunn, McCownGordon, GE Johnson, Turner, Kadean, Contegra, StructSure and more.”
With work focused on healthcare, education, warehouse buildouts and commercial tenant improvement, UPCO is reporting on target year-over-year growth. Some of the contractor’s current projects include 8 metro Target renovations totaling more than $4 million, and recently was awarded projects for PACE KC Swope Health, KCI Concessions, KIPP KC High School and BioLife Plasma, with repeat clinical/surgery renovations at Saint Luke’s Hospitals, Research Medical and Olathe Health Systems.
“Our backlog of work is the strongest it’s ever been with the help of our repeat clients and our loyalty to them. In fact, we project to exceed our goals for 2022,” said Murrell.
